On June 30, 2026, Xi'an East Railway Station, one of Northwest China's largest integrated transportation hubs, officially commenced operations. Inspired by the design concept of "Qin Mountains, Wei River, and the Silk Road of Chang'an," this state-of-the-art transportation hub seamlessly integrates high-speed rail, conventional rail, intercity rail, and metro services. With 13 platforms and 27 railway lines, the station is designed to handle up to 36.5 million passengers annually in the future, serving as a key gateway supporting Xi'an's role as an inland hub for opening-up and the Belt and Road Initiative.

To address the operational challenges posed by such massive passenger volumes, JIESHUN has delivered an integrated smart mobility solution for Xi'an East Railway Station. Centered around the JShine Smart Parking System, intelligent pedestrian gates, and a unified smart operation and management platform, the solution comprehensively covers vehicle access, pedestrian flow management, and data-driven operations. Together, these technologies significantly enhance the efficiency of both vehicle and passenger movement while empowering the station with intelligent, digitalized management.

Efficient Vehicle Management for High-Volume Traffic

As a major transportation hub serving tens of millions of passengers, Xi'an East Railway Station experiences heavy vehicle traffic with pronounced peak-hour congestion. Efficient vehicle access is therefore essential to ensuring a smooth passenger experience and maintaining orderly station traffic.

For the public parking facility located on the B2 underground level, JIESHUN deployed its JShine Smart Parking System across 8 entry lanes and 10 exit lanes. Equipped with high-definition license plate recognition, intelligent fee calculation, and integrated electronic payment, the system enables near-instant vehicle identification and seamless, ticketless access, significantly improving traffic throughput while reducing congestion during peak hours.

The system also supports integration with unattended parking management, allowing operators to monitor real-time traffic flow across each lane. This provides valuable operational insights for dynamic traffic management and resource allocation while improving overall parking space utilization.

Safe, Fast, and Orderly Pedestrian Access

With large numbers of passengers arriving and departing simultaneously, efficient pedestrian flow management is critical to the daily operation of a major railway hub.

To address concentrated passenger flow, JIESHUN installed multiple groups of intelligent pedestrian gates throughout Xi'an East Railway Station. Their one-way passage design effectively minimizes congestion and prevents opposing pedestrian flows during peak periods, ensuring orderly and safe movement even under heavy passenger traffic.

Pedestrian Access Control

The pedestrian gates support multiple operating modes and can process up to 50 people per minute in peak mode, making them well suited for train arrivals, departures, holidays, and other high-traffic scenarios.

To ensure both security and user safety, the gates feature JIESHUN's self-developed high-density infrared detection system, combined with mechanical, current-sensing, and infrared anti-pinch protection. The system accurately detects passengers and their luggage, effectively preventing tailgating while eliminating the risk of injury or damage during passage, ensuring a secure one person, one passage experience.

Designed with a refined minimalist appearance and JIESHUN's signature Star Curtain LED indicator, the gates complement the station's architectural style inspired by the grandeur of the Tang Dynasty.

Unified Platform for Intelligent Operations

Xi'an East Railway Station adopts JIESHUN's integrated smart operation and management platform, enabling seamless connectivity, data sharing, and coordinated operation across multiple systems. The platform creates a comprehensive smart mobility ecosystem covering every stage of station operation.

Serving as the station's intelligent data hub, the platform integrates infrastructure resources, operational data, and external system information into a unified database. This provides accurate, real-time insights to support vehicle dispatching, passenger flow management, emergency response, and operational decision-making, transforming management from experience-based operation to data-driven intelligence.

Built on this unified platform, the visualized operation command center combines real-time monitoring, intelligent dispatching, operational analytics, and emergency management into a single interface, becoming the central command hub for station operations.


Through the visual dashboard, operators can instantly monitor parking occupancy, vehicle traffic at every entrance and exit, pedestrian throughput, and other key operational indicators. When traffic surges or parking capacity becomes constrained, the system automatically generates alerts, enabling operators to optimize traffic guidance strategies, allocate operational resources efficiently, and respond rapidly to changing conditions. As a result, overall operational efficiency and emergency response capabilities are significantly enhanced, ensuring smooth and orderly mobility even during periods of exceptionally high passenger volume.
